My decision to run for the Mason City Schools Board of Education is deeply rooted in my core personal values of Integrity, Family, Service, and Connection. These values align seamlessly with the district's mission of "Growing learners, leaders, and citizens through purposeful learning and meaningful experiences within a connected community." My guiding principle in all my actions will be, students first and community always. I am committed to ensuring that every student is prepared academically and with life skills. My focus will be on:
David currently holds several board positions: Vice-Chair for Warren County Community Services, a board member for Blue Skies for the Good Guys and Gals (an organization supporting Purple Heart recipients and Gold Star Families), and a board member for Portraits in Faith (which promotes spiritual connection). He is actively involved in the local Veteran Community as a member of the American Legion Color Guard and previously served three years as Post Commander. Within Mason City Schools, he serves on the Inclusive Excellence and Safety Committees. He has also collaborated with the Experiential Learning Program, bringing a skilled trades workshop to the MADE Manufacturing HUB, mentoring student entrepreneurs, and speaking at school events. He previously served as President of the Touchdown Club and co-chaired the 2020 school district levy.
